Graduation project
Future Craftsmanship
Arielle Andreotti
Interested in traditional weaving techniques as well as modern technology, Arielle Andreotti experimented with combining the two. She developed a special warp and method to weave in 3D, using epoxy resin and custom braided yarn. Voluminous and airy, her resulting ‘hanging structures’ are composed of woven modules that can be assembled in an endless number of ways. The patterns evoke geometric computer-generated volumes and 3D-printed shapes in a new and futuristic craft that entwines handmade traditions with the world of high-tech design.
