In a speculative near future, a machine learning algorithm could analyse your online data, compute a customised object that perfectly fits your taste, manufacture it on demand and ship it off to you. What would be the role of the designer in a world in which automated design becomes commonplace? Is a machine capable of creativity and what are the implications? These are some of the questions explored through a series of objects designed using the principles of neural networks, and narrated through the speculative Institute for Semiotic Cryptoarcheology established to analyse infrequent moments of artificial creativity.
