Design Studies

What will you learn?

You gain skills and retrieve knowledge of formal aspects of design and discover how to express yourself through working in 2D, 3D and Time-Based Media. You will be stimulated to think and act freely and show that you are able to work empirically and experimentally with these basics of design. You become acquainted with the following steps from the design cycle: exploring, creating, presenting and reflecting.

Production Studies

What will you learn?

Semantics, expression and experience of materials will be touched upon in different classes. You learn about contrast, structure, texture, tactility, colour and skin properties and the properties of diverse materials. You will get to know more about prototyping and developing concepts.

Contextual Studies

What will you learn?

You become acquainted with various discourses relevant to the design field, touching upon historical, historiographic, and theoretical topics, that cross borders with philosophical, social, economical and political issues.

You learn how to use different research and writing methods and to collect information from different sources through archival, participatory and field research. You will represent and translate the research and collected information into a specific

narrative outcome that can consist of different media such as a text, film, map, object, installation or publication
