A Guide to Satellite Surveillance

Anastasia Kubrak

In her book and infograph ‘A Guide to Satellite Surveillance’, Anastasia Kubrak offers a closer look at the artificial moons orbiting the earth and their impact on our lives. Despite the widespread use of the images they collect in mass media and politics, the satellites themselves, invisible in the sky, remain mysterious and unknown to us. Their mythical aura is reinforced by their technical nature and association with espionage. This project aims to demystify their presence by highlighting moments when certain satellites have played a significant role, placing them within the context of media and political events, commercial ownership and governmental censorship.
