Design Academy Eindhoven welcomes new Supervisory Board member, Elies Lemkes-Straver

Elies Lemkes-Straver comes from a wealth of experiences in the public and private domain. Amongst many other things, she was vice-governor of the Province Noord-Brabant, CEO of Brainport Development in Eindhoven and CEO of the Southern Agriculture and Horticulture Organization (ZLTO). Elies also held many supervisory positions, among others in economic development, education, research and culture and is well connected with the Eindhoven region and the Southern Netherlands. She is appointed as Supervisory Board Member at the Academy per February 1st.

The SB is a legally required, independently appointed supervisory body for the Academy. The Supervisory Board appoints the members of the Executive Board (EB), and approves the budget and the annual statement of accounts. In addition, the SB oversees the standards of the Academy’s management and the education it offers. The SB also acts as a sounding board for the EB. The SB members can serve for a maximum of eight years.
