Martina Margetts
About the lecture
An important process at DAE is ‘designing through making’. Designers shape human living - but what knowledge and perceptions shape designers? As the orthodox rhetoric of consumer culture is drowned out by voices of the post-industrial, post-colonial, post-truth, post-human, Martina Margetts discusses post-craft and its significance for designers. Using examples of UK and international designer-making, Martina will show how materials and methods, bodies and spaces, politics and technologies are being rethought in our time.
