Design Research Framework
The 2022 Manifesto for Design Research by N. Bueno de Mesquita, aims to empower students at DAE to situate their work within the wider context of design research. By focusing on the research processes behind design projects, rather than outcomes, the framework encourages reflection, the sharing of methods, tools, insights, and implications, transforming projects into foundational building blocks for design research. Through systematic categorization of past and running projects, students are encouraged to position their works and identify key research components. This approach strengthens the integration of academic knowledge and design practice. At the lab we are currently working on integrating this framework into the DAE website, aiming for the Bachelor and Master students to use the framework.
