Research Archive

From the earliest days of practice-oriented research and research groups in higher education, DAE has subscribed to this approach. The first research group at DAE –Eco Design with Dr Ursula Tischner– was launched in 2002. In the years since, the Academy has established a number of different research groups in various forms, ranging from the addition of a research chair within a design department to the participation in multi-year consortium programmes.

BECOMING

Becoming is the framing theme for our current research strategy. It focuses on the extreme state of flux that we are currently experiencing, with rapid change taking place across different environments and different levels and functions of society across the world. This moment of significant and widespread change requires us to consider every aspect of ourselves, from the simplest action to the most complex issue. Underlying the concept of becoming is the need to explore the factors involved in initiating change. This principle demands that we continuously chart the shifting roles of design in society.

ARCHIVED RESEARCH PROJECTS

The Design Academy Eindhoven Knowledge Circle was created as a tool to both stimulate and map the research being carried out by students through their individual projects. It was also a tool for highlighting and displaying specific graduation projects with a significant and well-developed research component. The Knowledge Circle is currently on hold. Please keep an eye on this page for future updates.
