Swimming in Deep Waters
Alberte Daugaard
A series of ceramic lamps inspired by the fluorescent glow of coral reefs
The deep sea and coral reefs have always fascinated Alberte Daugaard, despite her fear of deep waters and the unknown creatures that may lurk beneath. Although this anxiety has held her back from exploring this beautiful underwater world, her design skills allow her to work around that problem, letting the creatures from the deep shine on dry land. This landscape of ceramic lamps is inspired by a strong fascination with corals, colour and light. Treating the organic shapes with UV-active pigments brings them to life. ‘Swimming in Deep Waters’ brings the hidden fluorescent glow of corals to the surface and creates a wonder world to explore at ease, without even getting your feet wet.
