Gear Dulcis

Gear Dulcis reinvents functional outerwear by combining essential functionality with decorative, romantic elements. The collection of samples and a prototype jacket showcases new craft techniques such as ultrasonic welding, a technique traditionally used to seal synthetic fabrics, applied to create functional elements, decorative fraying and cut-outs that enhance both aesthetics and utility. The project also includes experiments with synthetic dyes, highlighting the interplay between colour and texture. With a passion for the outdoors, Gear Dulcis takes an expressive approach that taps into existing production lines, combining technical precision with creative expression.
