Immersed: Experiential Design in an Age of Transience
Fractures between ecological breakdown and our lived experience have led to a stranglehold on our collective consciousness. How, as designers can we transform extractive practices in designing for impermanence and how can immersive design orient itself away from creating passive consumers of ‘Spectacle’ to reorient itself as a mechanism for empowering agency. Spanning performance, exhibition, interior and object design, SpaceBroth consider their role as designer in an age of transience and how embedding research gives them purpose.
