Moisés Horta (hexorcismos)
Latent Soundings
In this artist presentation, Moisés explores the intersection of A.I. technology music and sound art, posing the research question: “How do A.I. sound technologies transform our interactions when approached through a critical, artist-driven, decolonial, and mutual aid lens?” Operating under the pseudonym 𝔥𝔢𝔵𝔬𝔯𝔠𝔦𝔰𝔪𝔬𝔰, Moisés crafts a dialogue between the ancient and the digital, critically navigating the contemporary landscape of electronic music and sonic art. Throughout the session, he unveils critically, the potential of artificial intelligence in sculpting the future of auditory and visual synthesis, emphasizing the need to demystify neural networks. He presents his projects, SEMILLA AI, an interface for engaging with generative neural sound synthesizers by rethinking the interface through ancient divinatory practices, and MUTUALISMX, a global spanning collaboration between 12 musicians and their artificial neural networks ‘AI Mutuals’. Moisés’ practice champions new collaborations and cooperation within the A.I. and sound and visual spheres, promoting a profound comprehension of these technologies and underscoring the significance of artist-centered creation. This artist lecture invites attendees to explore the possibilities that arise when A.I. sound technologies are engaged from an artistically, socially and culturally critical standpoint.
