Institute of Unseen Digital Art
Zalán Szakács
Digital art is reliant upon the technology used to create it. As such, it risks being lost when specific software becomes obsolete. So, how to conserve and curate digital artworks for the future? Zalán Szakács’ solution is the ‘Institute of Unseen Digital Art’. Here, pioneering pieces such as P. Struycken’s ‘Blocks’ from 1998, can be recreated in an immersive virtual reality environment. The viewer can access and experience each work anytime and anywhere. All you need is Zalán’s VR app. The aim of the institute is also to raise awareness about the need for digital conservation, and to find new solutions together.
