Master Talk & Tour
DAE’s Master’s programmes are rooted in research-based design, embracing a transdisciplinary approach. Students develop their unique authorial voice through field research, material exploration, data analysis, and collaborative practices across disciplines. The programme encourages critical reflection on the design profession while fostering creativity in a vibrant, international peer environment.
If you’re seeking to reinforce and focus your authorship as a designer or design theorist, but aren’t sure if DAE is the right fit for you, this event is the perfect chance to gain clarity and discover everything you need to know.
MA TALK & TOUR 2025 PROGRAMME
Talks by MA Heads
The MA Talk & Tour offers the unique opportunity to hear directly from each of the course heads about what to expect from their respective programmes. We welcome Patricia Reed & Saskia van Stein (Critical Inquiry Lab), Metahaven (Geo-Design), Marco Ferrari (Studio Folder / Information Design), Afaina de Jong (Contextual Design) and Nadine Botha (Social Design).
Meet tutors and alumni
During the MA Talk & Tour Department Heads will be joined by tutors and alumni to discuss their programmes, and what it’s like to study at DAE. Our community of tutors are all professionals from, or related to, the design field with both national and internationally recognized practices. We encourage students to take a look at graduation projects of our recent alumni for a sampling of their work.
Support and administration
Studying is a moment of transformation while experimenting with unfamiliar processes, orienting to a new surrounding, and challenging boundaries of thought. At DAE our student body is highly international, and we value our programme as space for the mingling of different backgrounds. During the MA Talk & Tour our student counsellor will be present to answer questions related to student support structures. For practical issues regarding visas, housing, or tuition fees, students will also be able to meet the student administration.
Live Admissions
This year we offer the opportunity for you to fast-track your application process with Live Admissions.
