Reprocessing

Willeke Segers

## “Instead of designing new products, I act more as a catalyst for innovation and the improvement of existing production processes.”

Willeke Segers was asked to find a use for waste material from the production of insulating building panels in new product designs. Instead, she thought it would be better to find a way to reuse the pristine PU waste material in the original production process. Out of her experiments and eventual collaboration with the company UNILIN, she developed two innovative approaches. These new circular production methods are created by reusing the waste stream of insulation material as raw material again. This approach shows how waste can flow back into the production process as new material, while even adding value to the final product and creating a leaner production system.
