Xocolatl

Stephanie Bakker

WHAT
An experience that celebrates the fine qualities of chocolate and presents it as the luxury item it once was.

WHY
Chocolate has become a product of worldwide mass consumption, but not of mass production. Cocoa bean farmers are getting less money for a difficult crop that increasingly suffers from climate change. A worldwide shortage is at hand: time to revalue this extraordinary product.

HOW
Stephanie Bakker has teamed up with a confectioner for a setup that tickles the senses. ‘Xocolatl’ offers a taste of chocolate heaven: tactile 3D-printed structures, super shiny chocolate bombs, crunchy chock rocks or a finger-licking cocoa sauce. The utensils to prepare and serve them add to the thrill and make you crave for one thing only.

QUOTE
Chocolate is like good wine; an exhilarating luxury.
