"Tactile Landscape A tactile experience that invites individuals to explore physical touch"

Patty van den Elshout

Soft interior pieces encourage people to use their sense of touch to create a feeling of calmness and enhance their overall well-being.

The sense of touch is fundamental to how we interact with the world around us, our well-being, and communication. Intertwined with our other senses, physical touch helps shape our understanding of body ownership and presence within a given space. When we engage in tactile sensations, a soothing message is relayed to our brains, fostering a sense of calm and enhancing our overall well-being. ‘Tactile Landscape’ consists of soft, organically shaped modular pieces designed for both walls and floors. These tactile coverings can be used in private homes as well as public spaces like hospitals and libraries, where they bring comfort and calm to the space.
