FoodCare

A series of therapeutic workshops invites participants to make bread while exploring the important role food plays in their emotional self-care.

In moments of stress, we can respond in the fight, flight or freeze mode. They can result in anger, fear or sadness. Our default emotion is often related to how we react in particular situations. But if one emotion becomes dominant, our overall health can be thrown off balance, leading to problems with our energy levels, immune system or digestive system. ‘FoodCare’ investigates how food can play a role in emotional self-care. It takes the form of a workshop that combines a therapeutic approach with the method of Ayurveda’s dosha to create insights. Participants explore the act of making sourdough bread as a means of understanding our dominant emotion and, hence, improving our sense of wellbeing.
