THE EXhibition COMPLEX

Matilde Losi

If the museum stops being a place to exhibit and becomes a place to actualise design, how can contemporary design use exhibition spaces as a tool? And how can institutions provide a toolbox for design? Through her research, Matilde Losi identified an opportunity to rethink the terms of engagement between museums and contemporary designers, creating a new relationship where design isn’t reduced to content within a container. 'THE EXhibition COMPLEX' breaks down existing and rigid structures of exhibition spaces, bringing designers and institutions together. It creates a bridge to the outside world – the place where communities, cultures and subcultures dwell and interact. It marks the moment when designers and institutions actualise design.
