Pretty In Pink On A Dark Street

What are the feelings and experiences of walking alone at night for those that self-identify as women and feminine-presenting people? One-on-one night walk interviews were conducted in Eindhoven, at different times of the night, with participants from different countries. The findings are presented in a performance exploring how things such as posture, pace, behaviour, encounters, lighting and attire impacts the experience of walking. The project is as much about gender, urban spaces and temporalities as it is about walking as a research methodology — how unexpected thoughts and ideas arise from the almost aimless in-between state and surroundings evoked by perambulating.
