Bacchanalia_party

Lioba Benold

"Bacchanalia_party is a series of unique events that invites the public and mainly FLINTA community members to reimagine what a safe nightlife experience could be like, free from heavy surveillance and consumerism. Lioba Benold developed a co-curatorial methodology based on a feminist ethnographic research practice, focusing on the placemaking and community-building potential of nightlife.

To ensure participant safety, the events were not documented. Instead, the installation features fifty slip-cast ceramic amphoras decorated by the event participants, depicting their experiences. An open-ended hand-drawn floor plan of the venue invites speculation and participation in co-creating a safe and non-transactional nightlife."
