Locavore

Juliette Leclercq

# "I want to open people’s eyes to the original taste of regional products and the environmental issues of transport and the large scale agri-industry that the supermarkets rely on."

One of the most effective ways to develop a critical and conscious attitude towards the environmental impact of food production is to encourage people to discover and consume products that are locally grown. Juliette Leclercq, a regular visitor to Fort-Mahon-Plage on France’s north coast, has always enjoyed harvesting wild plants and fishing for grey shrimps during low tide in the town’s surroundings. In the magazine ‘Locavore’ she evokes the satisfaction of following nature’s seasons and tides in order to enjoy eating what is locally available. The magazine makes an inventory of the local products available around Fort-Mahon-Plage and taps into the knowledge of the local producers on the use of the land.
