The Pommelier
Apples come in thousands of varieties, each with its own flavour profile and possibilities. As locally sourced products and home-made foods gain in popularity, this past year has offered a perfect opportunity to take a fresh look at what’s around us in our small country, to dive into the world of apples and to experiment with this familiar fruit.
‘The Pommelier’ is a travelling workshop in the form of an interactive installation. Visitors discover the technique of cider making and accompanying fermentation process by playing, touching, looking, smelling and, above all, tasting. Along the way, they learn about the rich variety of Dutch apples. Successful workshop participants receive a ‘Junior Pommelier’ certificate, enabling them to help spread the message.
