Collector of Emotions

Ivy Go

“Emotions are difficult for humans, let alone machines, to identify and define”

What: A digital installation that tracks and archives human emotions. Instead of the standardised few, it aims to show the beauty of the full spectrum. Why: Online emotion tracking systems gather large quantities of data, to increase profit rather than broaden human experience. In pursuit of an ever happy user, current software oversimplifies reality. Ivy Go wants to make us aware of the power of this technology, and the risk that comes with it. How: In collaboration with programmers, Ivy developed a disruptive tracking system that collects a much wider range of ‘unofficial’ emotions. A camera records the micro facial expressions and presents a visual abstract on www.emotion.fyi, showcasing the different degrees and depths of a human emotion.
