Ministry of Reasonable Chaos
Irakli Sabekia
“We need breathing space for new ideas”
What: Welcome to the Ministry of Reasonable Chaos, staging playful interventions in the overregulated Netherlands.
Why: Every aspect of Dutch life is regulated, either by the system or through an abundance of social control. Overwhelming regulation is restraining the capacity for creative change, says Irakli Sabekia. His new Ministry is here to shake things up: its goal is to create new possibilities by introducing reasonable amounts of chaos and randomness into various aspects of life.
How: As an introduction to its practice, the Ministry presents a series of ‘unruled’ interventions in public spaces, using archetypal yet colourful light bricks. These little messengers break through the monotony of rigid spaces and invite the public to sculpt their own environments.
