Amber Canopy

Iiris Möller

"Pine resin disappears into the cycle of the forest, not leaving a trace."

WHAT A study of the potential use of leftover pine resin, a cheap material readily available all over the world. WHY Iiris Möller grew up close to forests in Finland and believes strongly in returning everything we take from the earth. Interested in finding new possibilities for biodegradable materials, she wondered whether she could make anything from pine resin besides varnish or glue. HOW Iiris returned to the forest, the source of the material. Inspired by the sounds and play of light, she wanted to take pine resin back to where it came from. Her tiles mark a clearance in the forest, luring you beyond the paths among the trees.
