The Plasticity of Efficiency
Geometry, cartography and artificial intelligence use an alphabet of shapes thatare not as neutral as they appear. These tools are so embedded in our way of thinking that they generate structures that seem unrelated at first. If we look at the structure of our education system, we see that it is composed of isolated fields that do not reflect the variety of learning opportunities we now encounter all the time. While its classification offers a strong foundation to build upon, it lacks dynamism. Ianis Dobrev proposes a visual inquiry into the processes that generate grids. Giving them a form, a texture, a stage could enable us to move freely through the rigid structure of education.
