Next Door Narratives

WHAT A narrative-driven podcast program for voluntary carers: mobilising and empowering, enabling peer support, reflection, and connection with the wider community via local radio and online. WHY The number of family carers is increasing in the context of ageing societies and cuts to services. This podcast gives them a voice, airs personal lived experiences and stories, celebrating and expressing complex and diverse identities. WOW Refreshingly uplifting and entertaining, this project defies stereotypes of the carer’s role, offering instead a positive re-evaluation of family bonds. The format proved to be creative and engaging in the broadest sense and can be applied in communities around the world.
