Graduation project
Flock
Dora Heller Russell
For the last four years, the class of 2024 has worked and grown side by side. Now, these students have graduated. While projects are proudly presented to the public, the student community quietly dissolves. The group of individuals who made up the collective is forgotten. To highlight and celebrate this group, Dora Heller Russell handmade 119 graduation gowns as a gift to all her classmates. Designed as a blank canvas, each wearer is invited to personalise their gown. Sewn into each gown is an invitation, with a time and date for one last gathering. Robed graduates flock to the ceremony, marking the transition by coming home to the community.
