Scope

Charlotte Bombel

## “Light has such a profound influence on our wellbeing that we need objects like ‘SCOPE‘ that allow us to adapt lighting conditions to suit different needs throughout the day.“

‘SCOPE’ is a lamp that creates different lighting moods by illuminating a multicoloured sur-face. Depending on how it is implemented in our homes, offices or public spaces, light in-fluences our sleep, productivity, cognition and wellbeing. At a biological level, we react to light depending on its colour and height. In developing ‘SCOPE’, Charlotte Bombel explored ways of reproducing how natural light illuminates our homes after being reflected and scat-tered. This is ever more relevant today because the home has extended its purpose. From once being a place where we eat and sleep, it has evolved into a multifunctional hub for rest, work and leisure. The gradient on the dome derives from the natural tones we react to when working or resting.
