ModuNest
Carolina Billep Garay
ModuNest is a response to the habitat loss that occurs when native species of plants and animals are displaced by human construction – it aims to reclaim space in developed areas that might allow for ecosystems to reestablish themselves. The innovative structure designed by Carolina Billep Garay is woven from metal pipes in an interlocked modular chain system that requires no welding or additional fixtures to assemble, and can be adapted to different terrain. Over time, plants will grow on the skeletal structure, and while waiting for them to grow 3D printed biodegradable nests can be attached to the structure to accommodate birds.
