Scent-scape
Camille Moens
Imprints of the street were made using glass to draw attention to the beauty of what we do not usually notice beneath our feet.
Neon pink gum sits on grey brick. Every time another shoe touches it, it hardens and turns grey, until it eventually merges with the cement beneath it. Camille Moens says that there's poetry and beauty to be found at every step beneath our feet. A crushed aluminium can or an unlikely flower growing from stone: the street is filled with intriguing scenes and compositions that tell a story. We just have to look close enough to experience them. Camille slowly let pieces of rough cloth take the shape of the street over several months. She also worked with a glassblower to capture the quiet and understated stories present in the street in glass. The impressions aren't immediately clear, but they become visible in the right light.
