Question of Matter
Greta Ballschuh
The ecosystem relies on circulating nutrients and minerals to make recurring life possible. But by placing ourselves apart from nature, we interrupt that cycle, with barren soils as a result. Yet our body can give the earth what it needs: it has all the main nutrients that plants require to grow, ranging from carbon and nitrogen to calcium and magnesium. When we are cremated or buried in a coffin, these do not enter the circle of life. But if we shake of conventions and beliefs and donate our bare bodies to the ground, we can sustainably revive depleted soil in our afterlife. ‘Question of Matter’ presents a completely new perspective on how to reconnect with nature.
